Dreaming of Warmer Weather
Winter has officially taken over Texas. As I am writing this blog, it is actually SNOWING in the Lone Star State. All I can think at this very moment is that Hell must have officially frozen over. While I truly love nothing more than living in a winter wonderland, rocking a chunky sweater with some great boots, and toting around some piping hot Starbucks, I have officially begun craving warmer weather. Well maybe not until like March. With spring rolling around the corner, bits and pieces of spring collections have begun peeking through the fashion world's cracks. As a result I can't help but dream I was somewhere a little warmer, where it was acceptable to rock amazing floral pieces in January. As I stare at this gorgeous snow coming down from the sky, all I can think about is a weekend getaway to one of my favorite places, Miami- where the weather is warmer, the drinks are colder, and and flip flops are acceptable year round. If I had the chance at this very moment, I would book plane tickets to Miami ASAP for me and my best friend, get a spray tan, buy some espadrilles, and get the heck out of dodge.
But, at this point in time, I will simply admire have to admire these beautiful warm weather pieces from afar. It is always so refreshing after constantly seeing so many neutral colors and sweaters over the fall and winter seasons, to see some color and fun patterns. Personally I love my winter wardrobe, but sometimes a girl just needs a little color in her life! My dad is always giving me a hard time that I wear far too much tan/beige, grey and black. So, he'd probably be over the moon excited that I am obsessing over the reds, yellows, and pinks of spring! Just don't tell him that I really want like 1, or all, of the items I am showing you guys below...
As I sit cooped up inside because of winter flurries, my desire to jet out on a weekend getaway is growing stronger by the minute. Maybe just maybe, I'll treat myself to some of these beauties, so if nothing else I can pretend I am sitting on the beach (from the comfort of my own home). What's the harm in that, right? In the mean time, I hope some of you are out there traveling the world and exploring warmer places. For now, I suppose I will just have to live vicariously through all of you.
