Bad Hair Day, Everyday
As men and women our hair is our greatest accessory. For women in particular, if your hair doesn't look fabulous, it can make a great outfit look trashy. I struggle with what to do with my hair on a daily basis, mostly because I'm lazy and want it to look drop dead gorgeous without having to put in any manual labor. However, because of this and the fact that I don't have an army of minions to sculpt my hair into an piece of art every day, it tends to either go au naturel or in a pony tail. On occasion, or if I have something super fun going on or a hot guy to impress, then I might break out my straightener and/or curling iron, but this is a rare occurrence. I have some of the thickest, waviest, most unruly hair you have ever seen, so getting it reigned in is a b**** in itself. Thank goodness I can usually go 3 days without washing my hair, because if I had to wash it every single day, I might just die.
On the first day of washing my hair, it looks great for about an hour, then gets all knotted, tangled, and matted. On day 2,
assuming I brushed it and slept with it down the night before, it usually looks great. Its slightly less wavy, soft, still thick, and if I'm lucky... shiny! So praise be to God, I have 2 good hair days every week, which I am incredibly thankful for, because I'm sure plenty of you don't even get 1. On day 3, my hair leans toward the greasier side. This means it either gets throw it into a bun, braid, or high pony. This tames the beast just long enough to wash it that night, before the gruesome cycle of being a woman begins all over again.
Sadly, sometimes on day 3, a pony tail just doesn't seem to do the job at masking my hair grease. When the weather gets warmer, or I've worked out (yeah right LOL), then sometimes 3 days of not washing my hair is pushing it. Not even a chic pony tail or 5 gallons of dry shampoo will fix it at that point. So what's my solution? As long as I'm not at work (for obvious reasons) my favorite thing to do is to throw on a hat! I love a great baseball cap. Whether you opt for a more sporty or girly version of the baseball cap, you can't go wrong. This accessory is great because it can be worn with sweats/leggings, but also with a great pair of jeans and cute top, even a sundress if you're really feeling like pushing the envelope. Either way, your hair will be tucked away, out of your face, and no one will even notice your not so cute, bad hair day.
Below I have provided you, my wonderful readers, with some of The CWS's favorite "bad hair day" or "I don't feel like messing with my hair today" hats. Run some errands, grab some coffee, no matter what you have to accomplish for the day, you might as well do it in style, right?
Best of luck concealing your greasy hair - I'm not really proud of it, but it has definitely become one of my few talents.
Xoxo,
