What Men Really Want for V-Day!

Valentines Day is the one day of the year it is expected that the man in your life shower you with love, affection, roses and chocolate, AND plan a romantic evening for the two of you. As women, we have pretty high expectations of what we want our "sugar" to do for us on this day. However, how much do we really think about our man's expectations on this day? Typically, the only thing we think men expect from this holiday is well, sex. But is this holiday as special and important for them? Most men would probably deny it, but I think the answer to this question is yes, so it is important to make this day special for them too!

Unless you agree up front to not get each other gifts for Valentines Day, you pretty much have to figure out something to give your man. When they shop for us, it's pretty easy. We like flowers, candy, and anything that sparkles. Unless men literally put no thought into their gift, we are basically guaranteed to love whatever we're given. But when the roles are reversed... what do you buy your guy? Most likely he doesn't want anything that I have mentioned above, so I have come up with 7 great ideas of other things he surely won't hate. Hopefully this will make shopping for your man's Valentines Day gift a little bit easier!

1. Cologne:

For men, shopping for this accessory can be a bit overwhelming. Make it easier for your man, and pick out a scent that you find particularly enticing. It doesn't have to be anything fancy... as long as you love the scent, your man candy will too.

2. A Vacation:

Who doesn't love a good getaway? Treat your lover to a vacation somewhere incredibly romantic, like Tahiti. This is a present they are sure to love. Well, unless their allergic to sun, fun, and tropical drinks.

3. Gift Cards:

Whether your man loves to shop, eat, golf, or go to the movies, get him the gift that keeps on giving. Then, accompany him while he picks out something special or share in an experience together. While a gift card may seem impersonal to some, I believe if you choose the right one, it can almost be more thoughtful!

4. Tickets:

You can never go wrong with giving the gift of adventure or new experiences. Treat your man to tickets to a band you both love, to his favorite teams game, or to go see a comedian or show neither of you have ever seen. Valentines Day is about making memories with your loved ones, so make this year one you will both remember with this special gift.

5. A Watch:

Jewelry tends to be a mans go to gift for a woman on this holiday, well other than chocolates and roses... So why not get him jewelry too?! Just more manly jewelry. Every man should own a nice watch, if yours doesn't, then this is the perfect Valentines Day investment for him. However, be prepared to drop a little more than a $100 on this gift. A nice, quality watch will most likely cost at least $300+, so maybe make sure you're in it for the long haul with him before splurging on this gift!

6. A Home Cooked Meal:

A home cooked meal is a gift that everyone loves, no matter the occassion. But to make the night a little more special, perhaps try making an appetizer and/or dessert, dinner, and get a special wine for the evening. Don't like wine? Get all the fixings for y'alls favorite mixed drink. But remember, try and keep the entire dinner semi-light, so you can still feel sexy later in the evening. This shrimp scampi is a great, delicious, fresh option!

7. Alcohol:

Alcohol is always a good gift idea, as long as it's something that the person you're giving it to likes, and wouldn't go out of their way to buy for themselves. Meaning, buy something nicer and more expensive! For your man, a great wine or scotch is a great option.
