Menswear for women has become an increasingly popular trend, especially this spring with blue and white stripes, oxfords, and shirt dresses being seen on every runway, no matter the country. Each season there are a few pieces featured that we can all tell designers are obsessed with, and that will 100% be #trending for the next season and beyond. For spring this year, the shoes that have come out are banging, like to die for people. From the espadrilles and wedges, to the mules, loafers, and oxfords, I have not been able to resist the shoe trends. Yes, some pretty great clothing has come out too, but the shoes are where it's at. Basically, I have spent way too much money on shoes this spring so far, and I don't regret it whatsoever.
I am pretty damn short, so any chance I get to wear some sort of a heel, I take it. Platforms have become my new favorite, because they give me some extra height and are still so freaking comfortable. So this brings me to the oxford trend. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, brands, and price ranges. But the best part of this new shoe craze... is that you can find them in platform AND flat versions (but I am mainly obsessed with the platform ones)! So whether you want some that are a little more fancy, or you need something crazy versatile to add to your closet, or you want them to have tassels, or you're like me and want a pair with a sexy platform, you will definitely be able to find the oxford of your dreams - no matter your preference. Why? Because they are literally available everywhere right now! Just Google "women's oxfords" and I promise you will be amazed with your limitless options. These shoes are amazing, and I am seriously questioning why I do not already own a pair at this very moment. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that this trend is here to stay, and that it is not in fact a fad - AH!
Below, you will find some of my absolute faves. Personally, the Prada oxfords are #1 on my list, but they are way too far out of my price range, #tear. So, because I'm a broke a** b****, I will most likely be investing in the Steve Madden cutout oxfords (which are actually super great for spring and summer with those cutouts - bring on the breeze) or the Franco Sarto ones from Nordstrom Rack, which are majorly on sale y'all! This trend may seem kind of weird to some of you, and you may not think you're a fan of these shoes, but go try some on. Because trust me, the second you have a pair of these bad boys on with some super skinny ankle jeans, or a cigarette slack, your world will forever be changed. Wear them to work, wear them casually on the weekend, you can even wear them with a flowy sundress. Find yourself a pair and invest in them, because I promise you they will be your new favorite spring staple!
Seriously guys... if Olivia Palermo is wearing these, we should be too. I mean after all, she is my fashion spirit animal and I desperately wished I lived in her closet. But it's not just her rocking these babies. Other celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Erika Girardi/Jayne, Kendall Jenner, Rhianna, Kyle Richards, and Julianne Hough have all been seen in a pair, each more fabulous than the rest. We're all obsessed with celebrities (if you disagreed with that last statement then you are just lying to yourself), so why not try and dress like them since we can't actually be them! Get on your computer's ladies... you all (myself included) have some serious shoe shopping to do.
