Revenge of the Denim Skirts

If you're a 90's baby, then you have definitely rocked a few denim skirts in your day. And by a few, I mean you probably wore them multiple times a week. Personally, I know I wore the crap out of them, well until they (sadly) drifted out of style. But as time passed and other trends came and went... the denim mini skirt finally made its way back to being a trend, and now, it is back with more of a freaking vengeance than ever! So, if by some stroke of a miracle you still own one of your favorite denim skirts from the 90's and early 2000's (and it still fits you), then you have officially found vintage gold my friend! Break out that baby, and wear it till this trend (inevitably) dies out once again.

But what's more exciting than denim skirts finally being back in style? Getting to see how they have evolved over the past 10-15 years, of course. Sure, we have all seen a basic denim mini before. But what makes this trend new and interesting is all of the buttons, shapes, angles, pleats, sashes, shredded hems, embroidery, and zippers that designers have added to these skirts this season! The evolution of this piece doesn't stop there, it goes way deeper than how the skirt is designed. The way we are styling these skirts has been kicked up a notch since 1999, and is really what makes this trend so special! Celebrities and models are wearing denim mini's with fishnets, chunky booties, fabulous leather jackets, sky high platforms, fashionable sneakers, and even with matching, denim on denim tops. In other words... we aren't just wearing them with Old Navy flip flops and jellies anymore. Can I get a Hell yes? Thanks to celebs like Bella Hadid and Alexa Chung, we have proudly rocked this trend thoroughly into the 21st century!
