EMBROIDERY
ATTENTION: Now trending - embroidery!
Being that I am fresh out of college, every time I think about embroidery... my mind immediately jumps to the insane amount of monograming I purchased over the past 4-5 years. And when I say insane, boy do I mean insane. I freaking monogrammed anything and everything that could go on an embroidery machine. Hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, cups, necklaces, even stickers, you name it I probably bought it. That's what I get for being in a sorority and then working at a sorority store. But this is not the type of embroidery I'm talking about today. Why? Because it is officially unacceptable to purchase monogrammed products unless you are a child, in college, or getting married, and unfortunately I do not fall into any of these categories at this point in my life. I have vowed to myself that I would not buy anything embroidered again until marriage, well that was until this trend resurfaced. How can I justify breaking my promise? I said I wouldn't buy anything with my INITIALS embroidered on it... I never said I couldn't buy clothes with regular/floral embroidery on it! Like how I found that loophole?
This spring we have seen a lot of new trends appear in the fashion world - mule slides, mens wear, and tons and tons of embroidery! Sure, every season there seems to be a little bit of embroidery in existence. Just think about it, we have all probably owned at least one embroidered item at one point or another. At this very moment, I can think of at least 2 tops in my closet that have gorgeous blue embroidery on them (and they are 2 of my favorite shirts for spring and summer). But this season especially, it can be found everywhere and I mean everywhere. Whether you buy only designer brands, or are just trying to not break your bank account, I promise you will be able to find embroidery in all shapes, sizes, and colors, featured by your favorite brands/lines this season.
Ever since my excessive monogramming phase, or maybe addiction is a better word, I have loved embroidery. But, when it is paired with fashionable pieces... I pretty much fall head over heels. This trend helps make simple pieces more interesting and eye catching, and even makes the most masculine item more feminine! While embroidery may not seem like a groundbreaking or new trend, it has certainly taken fashion by storm this season. Whether it's on shirts, skirts, pants, lingerie, or handbags - embroidery is definitely making a splash for spring.
